Playground Fun

We walked over to the playground after dinner last night.

The kids had a blast exploring and playing.

Adam and Luke even got to use a seesaw for the first time. No pictures of that though, since Luke needed a little extra help.

Front Porch Sitting

My parents’ have the best front porch. My dad built a gate to go across the front of it, so the little ones are safely (and easily) contained. The kids love sitting out there, watching the cars go by, looking at the wildlife (squirrels, chipmunks, birds, the neighbor’s cat, and the dogs that walk past), and playing.

My mom and dad keep a wagon full of legos on the porch and the children all love building with them. Well, my nephew prefers to throw them over the gate, but we’re working on that.

Modern Art

“Mom, this is Modern Art. That means it lets everybody see something different. I kind of see a jet in the middle.”

Dave saw a parrot, I saw matryoshka dolls, and a couple of my friends saw the Virgin Mary.

I’d say that’s some pretty good modern art.

Celebrating 4

The kids had a blast driving around together in their “vehicle” at Papa & Mabel’s house. I wonder if they make a mini-van version?

Maggie figured out how to make it go on her own. She was so proud of herself. She does need to work on her steering though.

Luke turned four last week and we celebrated his birthday Monday night.

He was so excited to have us all sing to him. He had the biggest smile and told everyone “thank you” in the middle of the song.

Maggie was a big fan of the cake.

Luke tore through his gifts and left the cards for the end.

20150615_183351(0)He was thrilled with his presents – each and every one. He’s a very lucky little dude to be loved/spoiled by so many people.

1st Day of Summer Vacation

We started our summer vacation with a visit to the park.

We came home and had lunch outside while the kids played with the water table and set up obstacle courses in the driveway. The kids were thrilled when the ice cream truck came down our street.

4 Year Check Up

Luke had his 4 year well child visit today. He loves his doctor and she is a big fan of Luke too (how could she not be?).

He insisted on wearing his backpack and two different sneakers (he’s also wearing two different socks). He claims he runs faster and jumps higher with two different shoes. Luke has been having some pretty fantastic tantrums lately – just ask the people unlucky enough to be at the Wal-mart when we were there yesterday – and so as far as I’m concerned, mismatched footwear is not a fight worth engaging in.

He didn’t have to get any shots today, but I have to take him back later in the summer so he can get a whole bunch of them (then he’ll be set for kindergarten).

There’s Luke’s growth chart for his non-existent baby book. Don’t feel too bad for my poor forgotten middle child, his brother and sister don’t have baby books either. Maybe I’ll get them done before they go to college.

Maybe.
