We&#8217;ve seen them play in a few different stadiums, but not at Turner Field. Our hotel was only a couple of blocks away from the stadium and to get there we walked right by where the Olympic Torch from the 1996 games is kept.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3069\/2778750376_96089fa744.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3105\/2778750844_d0351e943e.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Once we were there, Pete found his little league number outside the gates. \u00a0 21 was worn by the left-handed pitcher <span class=\"white\"><span class=\"hlMd\">Warren Spahn.<\/span><\/span> Spahn was Inducted into the Braves Hall of Fame in August of 1999.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3036\/2777894377_637f3142de.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Once we were inside Dave took his standard &#8220;view of the field from way up high and behind home plate&#8221; photo.\u00a0 We both were pretty excited about that thing in the upper left corner, to the left left of the Delta sign.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3263\/2777894875_2bd4b8f973.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Still can&#8217;t see it? It&#8217;s a 40 foot tall, 15,000 pound tomahawk chopping mechanical cow.\u00a0 Awesome! Dave wants one for his sports basement.\u00a0 For the first time, I&#8217;m actually sort of glad we don&#8217;t currently have a basement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3197\/2778751088_5b9c2698be.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">And because I should include at least one photo of the actual game, here&#8217;s Dave&#8217;s boy Jeff at bat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3094\/2778751404_fc37d1d9c8.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Dave was a happy boy.\u00a0 He got his fill of baseball food: peanuts, beer, hot dogs, dippin&#8217; dots, and of course a sno-cone.\u00a0 10 points if you can guess what color it was.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3039\/2778751182_387b00d5d3.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>(see those freckles I mentioned before?)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3190\/2778751506_ea47a5d595.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">He was nice enough to share it with Pete.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3141\/2777894581_cf7d56afcc.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I got to wear my brand new Braves&#8217; jersey for the first time.\u00a0 I think I need a couple more Braves shirts so that I can mix it up a little and keep the scrapbook pages from being too boring (I&#8217;m a dork, I know).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3219\/2777895479_22063b9f51.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Oh, and the Braves beat the Giants (11-5).\u00a0 There was much rejoicing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The main reason we decided to go to Atlanta was because Dave wanted to see the Braves play in their home stadium.
