Today’s theme was “Around the World.” I admit, it had me stumped. My mom suggested making him a shirt with a map of the world on it, so that’s what we did. He was very happy with it and told me that no one else had a shirt like his.
I took Luke back to the doctor today to get his ears checked (again). He was complaining that his right ear hurt yesterday. I’ve also noticed that he doesn’t seem to be hearing very well lately, and so I didn’t want to wait until our follow-up at the end of next month.
The doctor said there is still fluid in both ears and that it could account for his trouble hearing. During the appointment she was able to see how he turns his head so he can listen with his left ear, and how he asks “what?” and “huh?” after things he should be able to hear with no problem. She gave us a referral for to see an Ear, Nose, and Throat Doctor and hopefully we’ll be able to get Luke fixed up soon.
What is not going to be fixed soon is our poor television.
Luke hit it with a toy bat. When I asked him why he said, “Because I wanted to play baseball and hit the ball.” I’m not sure if there was a ball on the TV at the time or not.
Someday, when he is a major league baseball player, this will be an amusing story told by the announcers between innings. (And Luke, if you do become a professional ball player, you owe us a new TV.)
It warmed up again today, so we were able to go for a nice long walk before we picked up Adam at the bus stop.
Maggie was coloring for a while earlier. When she finished she said, “ta da!” and held it up for me to see. She was so proud of herself – and rightfully so!
