Adam told me last night that he might not be able to go to school today. He said if he caught a leprechaun, that he’d probably need to stay home with him.
He was a little nervous about checking the trap this morning. When he did get close enough, he realized that we’d been outsmarted.
The sneaky leprechaun made stairs out of gold coins and escaped. HeĀ couldn’t take the coins with him though.
Adam was very excited when he realized they weren’t real gold, but foil wrapped chocolate. He counted them out right away to see if he had enough to take them to share with his class. I felt so bad when I had to tellĀ him couldn’t (the leprechaun left the label and I was able to check the ingredients, unfortunately they weren’t safe for the two students in his class with peanut allergies).
That kid has such a good heart though. I love that his first thought was to check if there were enough to take to school for his classmates. I also love how he insisted on wearing all green today.
He’s already making plans for next year’s trap.
