Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Last month Maggie, my mom, my Aunt Cathy, and I all had our hair cut to donate. Between the four of us, we donated 39 inches of hair to be made into wigs for children with hair loss, in memory of my dad.

Maggie was so excited to go to the salon and jumped right up to get her hair cut first.

I think she was a little nervous when she saw her braid. She had ten inches cut off.

She loved getting her hair cut though (and making silly faces at herself in the mirror).

And she loves her new hair, especially swishing it around her face when it’s down. She’s told me a couple of times that she misses her braids, but that she is glad that someone without hair will be able to use her hair.

My mom was next. Looking at the pictures, I think she might have had the second longest hair (after Maggie). She and I had gone back and forth for a while on whose hair was longer, so I’ll officially concede here.

Another great cut! She donated ten inches too.

Then it was my turn.

Snip, snip, snip!

My Aunt Cathy had the shortest hair to start, but still managed to donate 8 inches.

Super cute!

And here we all are with our new hair cuts.

They all turned out fantastic!

Stacy held down the fort with the rest of the kids while we were at the salon. She had Adam, Luke, and my nephews color pictures for Maggie telling her how proud they were.

I’m pretty proud of her too.
