Here’s a short little video of Maggie at gymnastics today.

Easter Train
Saturday we started our day with an Easter train ride.
The plan was to ride the train for a bit, stop for a visit with the Easter Bunny and an egg hunt, and then take the train back to the station. However, the weather had other plans. It didn’t stop Dave and the boys from spending some time on the open train car though.
Inside, bunny helpers brought eggs to the kids and the rabbit made stops in each car. Luke was not at all interested in posing with the Easter Bunny.
He did like showing off his train shirt that Mabel made him though.
When we got home, the kids spent some time building with legos. Adam did a nice job letting Maggie be his helper.
We went out again that afternoon.
We took a family outing to the movies (it was Maggie’s first movie ever).
She lasted all but the last ten minutes of the movie.

St. Patrick’s Day 2016
Adam set up a leprechaun trap the night before St. Patrick’s Day. He decided to have it in his room, so he could stay up all night to catch the tricky little fellow. He used a box decorated with leprechaun pictures. His hope was that the leprechaun would see the giant gold display, climb the rainbow stairs, and fall through the green tissue paper .
Even though Adam says he didn’t sleep a wink, the leprechaun still made an appearance. He also made a little mess of Adam’s clothes for the day and left chocolate coins all over the room.
Adam insisted on all green for the day.
Maggie and Luke had less green, but still looked cute. They had gymnastics that morning.
For the first time, Maggie willingly let go of my hand on the balance beam.
I even managed to snap a picture of the three of them after Adam got home from school. Adam’s shirt says, “Irish I was a ninja.”
So he spent some time practicing ninja moves while jumping off of the picnic table.
St. Paddy’s Day Painting
Adam and I went to a “Mommy & Me” painting class yesterday. My friend and her daughter, who gets along great with Adam, went with us. We made an afternoon of it and had a nice lunch together beforehand.
I think our finished paintings look fantastic on the mantel and Adam has already asked if we can go back again sometime.
Easter Photos
We took the kids to get Easter photos taken today. I wasn’t sure how it was going to go. Yesterday, Adam had a fall during recess and had a little bit of road rash on his face (thankfully it wasn’t too bad). All three of them have been battling a cold/cough (with poor Luke being the worst). And none of them really slept that great last night.
All that being said, I was really happy with how they turned out. It was a studio we hadn’t been to before and they did a fantastic job. I think we’ll definitely be going back.
Super Awesome
Adam’s class celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday and he came home wearing this awesome hat.
Maggie wore this tiara all night and was so excited to put on a princess dress to go with it. The dress didn’t last long though, she’s a little too short for it and kept tripping on the skirt.
This is Maggie’s current picture taking pose.
The kids spent a good chunk of our time outside yesterday picking mini pine cones for Mabel.
They also rode bikes, played with play doh, kicked a soccer ball around, hit some baseballs and drew with sidewalk chalk.
We spent about 4 hours playing outside. Dave cooked dinner on the grill and we ate at our picnic table. It was a really good day.
Building & Cutting
Yesterday was a busy one for us. It started with a workshop at Home Depot. The kids built toy wagons.
Then all three kids had hair appointments. It was only Maggie’s second time getting her hair cut. They cut off about an inch, just to even out the back.
Afterwards, we went to lunch and then stopped for ice cream on the way home.
Adam loved getting to pick out exactly what he wanted in his sundae.
When we got home, Dave put together Maggie’s new wheels. Adam and Luke took turns pushing her around the living room and she loved every minute of it.
More Videos
These are both from last weekend. It was really nice outside on Sunday, so Adam and I took a walk to the playground.
Then later that afternoon, we had Adam’s end of the basketball season celebration. Maggie loved the giant inflatable slide.
That was her second time on it. I wish I’d been recording the first trip down – the look of terror/surprise on her face when she sped up at the halfway point was hilarious.
Adam and Luke went down the slide too. Adam, true to form, went down it like a regular slide. He told me later that he didn’t know if he would get in trouble if he did something crazy and didn’t want to take chance.
Luke, started head first on his belly and then switched to a sideways roll about halfway down. That’s another thing I wish I’d gotten on video.
