Earlier, on our way back from getting Adam’s hair cut, he told me a story.

“Once upon a time when Papa and Daddy were little and Adam was big. Papa and Daddy couldn’t reach the fish crackers on top of the refrigerator and so Adam got them down for them. And they were happy. The End.”

The boys were both supposed to get haircuts yesterday. Luke sat perfectly still on Dave’s lap and let her cut his hair with no complaints.

Adam complained loudly and they recommended we make him an appointment for today with the salon manager, who was supposed to be really good with kids. So that’s what we did.

And that’s what we’ll do next time too. She did a great job, and while Adam wasn’t happy about getting his hair cut, there was no crying or yelling either – I’ll take it.
