And it comes with a lifetime guarantee!

I caught this picture of Adam waving the other day.  I think he was maybe saying hi to the baby in the fireplace (his reflection), either that or to a chair.

Or maybe it wasn’t a “hello” wave at all, maybe it was one of the “bye-bye” variety.  Now that he’s got his own wheels the kid is really going places.  Check out his new Craftsman walker.  It has four-wheel drive, adjustable height, and a lower tray to help transport toys.  I’m thinking that we can rig up a cup holder with a coozi and some duct tape and he’ll be all set.

Oh and please ignore the chaos in the background and say a little prayer for me that our next house will have a playroom.  Thanks.

In a New York state of mind

We’ve been busy around here trying to get things ready to move out of Virginia.  In about two months we’ll be New York residents again (yay!).  Adam has been doing his best to “help”.  I never realized how difficult it is just to get things done with a baby around.  He has been getting in to everything lately – and this is just with him crawling – I don’t even want to think about him walking…

Oh, and this is Adam’s preferred way to ride in a shopping cart.  He loves being able to see where we’re going and facing forward makes it a lot easier to see other people too.  He’s been so chatty lately and wants to talk to everyone.  He really is just about the best thing ever.

Mama’s Boy?

Adam was nice enough to share his cold with me (I’m guessing those big slobbery kisses I love so much are excellent germ transporters).  I was pretty miserable all weekend.  My throat was sore, my nose was stuffed, I was exhausted, and just did not feel well.  Thankfully Dave came to the rescue.

He took Adam with him to run errands Saturday morning.  They went to the bank and the little guy yelled at everyone that came in (and again when they left) .  According to Dave they weren’t mean yells – just “Hey, look at me, I’m cute right? Okay thanks! Have a nice day” yells.  After their outing the boys came home and took a nap.

Yesterday they spent their day watching baseball and dinosaur cartoons, playing with trucks and Adam’s farm, and of course, taking more naps.

Thankfully since Daddy was on duty, I was able to get a lot of rest myself and am feeling a lot better today.  I’m pretty much the luckiest lady ever – I mean look at my guys.  I don’t think they could get any cuter.

Oh, and speaking of cute – Adam waved “bye-bye” to us for the first time today.  It was that adorable little backwards wave that babies do too – talk about an overload of adorable!!

Oh boy…only 8 months old and he finds flatulence funny.

How’s that for a title?  Before I forget, I want to get a couple of Adam Milestones documented.

Last Week: He started giving me zerberts (definition: The sound that occurs where someone places the mouth against skin and blows).  He thinks they are hilarious.  He did not find them as amusing when he was still in my belly and Dave used to give them to him/me.

Tuesday: I caught him “dancing” to music for the first time.  He likes to use his farm toy to stand (when you open the door it plays “Old MacDonald”) and shake his little hips to the e-i-e-i-o.

Tonight: He farted (too much information?) and looked at me and laughed.  He’s such a little boy.

Cranky Baby

Unfortunately this has been a common sight lately.  Adam’s second tooth is trying to push through and on top of that he’s got a cough and a stuffy nose – poor little man.  His tooth hurts, which makes him cry, then that makes his nose even stuffier, and that just ticks him off.  Because of this we’re both a little cranky and short on sleep.  We made a trip to Target today to restock on Orajel (I left the last tube in NY and that is really no help to him – or me), so hopefully that will help.

The Little Dude’s 1st Easter

The bunny was very good  to the little man (as were Aunt Stacy, G-ma, and Papa).  Here he is in between his two Easter baskets.

I’d like to take a moment here to point out that he’s wearing a pair of dinosaur pajamas and what’s that on the top of the basket to his right??  I know you can’t really tell from the picture, but it’s a new pair of dino-jammies!! Dinosaurs playing basketball to be exact.

He had the best time pulling everything out of the baskets.  He would take something out of the basket (in this case his new shorts from Grandma and Papa – they’re plaid, that’s Grandma Connie’s favorite color), hold it in the air to show us, and then put it down and move on to something else.

Here he’s tasting his new trucks….mmmm….plastic….yum.

He was also a big fan of the plastic eggs.  He loves banging them together.

This next picture kills me.   That rocking chair was mine when I was little.  I should dig up a picture of me sitting in it.  I  can’t believe that Adam’s big enough for it (he even knows how to make it rock).

And here’s one last pic of the little dude in his Easter duds. Isn’t he just about the most handsome baby boy ever?  I think so.

That rabbit’s got a vicious streak a mile wide! It’s a killer!

About two weeks ago I took Adam to the mall so he could get his photo taken with the Easter Bunny.  He handled the bunny pretty well.  No smiles, but they did get a nice picture before he started to cry.

He handled it a lot better than I would have.  People in costumes like that freak me out (minus the ones at Disney, for some reason they’re okay).

I scream, Adam screams….

Adam has it so rough.  He travels over 400 miles to visit Grandma & Papa and less than 24 hours after arriving they put him to work on Papa’s tractor.

Then the poor kid is forced to spend a couple of hours playing on the front porch with Grandma before he’s allowed a milk break.

And then he had to take a walk in his stroller so Mama and Grandma could get lunch.  After lunch there was more walking to the grocery store (Adam decided he’d had enough and slept through most of this).  When he did wake up (while at the third stop of the day) he was not a happy boy.  I mean seriously an ice cream shop??  What kind of horrible people torture a little boy by making him wait in line at an ice cream shop?  And ice cream is horrible, it’s yucky like green beans (the one food we’ve found so far that he’s not too fond of).  Oh, wait….

Ice cream is good!! It’s not anything like green beans!  Ice cream is even better than carrots!!

By the end of the cone both Grandma and Adam were covered in chocolate ice cream.  Mommy was able to avoid the mess because she gave up ice cream for Lent.  Ha ha Grandma!!  I really don’t think that she minded too much – a couple squirts of stain remover, a quick bath in the sink (for Adam, not Grandma) and the mess was gone.

I am pretty sure we’ve created a chocoholic, ice cream loving monster though.

Dino-mite!

This is the picture I should have posted on Wednesday.  I meant to write a big thing about how I can’t believe the little dude is eight months old, and that’s two-thirds of a year, and he’s huge, and old, and practically driving a car, and yada yada yada, but I couldn’t because approximately 2 hours after taking this photo I lost my camera.  Dave found it when he got home from work – the couch had eaten it.  I think the couch may have had help from a certain eight month old that treats the couch like his own personal playground.

Okay, confession time, I think I might have a slight addiction to dinosaur pajamas.  When I was packing for our WNY Easter adventure I folded 4 pairs of 9 month sized dino-jammies.  To be fair, one pair came from Aunt Stacy for Christmas, but the other three pairs were all my fault.

And since we’re just laying it all on the line here – it’s not just pjs.  If you look at the pictures I did post on the 31st (all of which came from my cell phone since my camera was still MIA) Adam is wearing a dinosaur shirt.  Not just a dinosaur, a dinosaur on a motorcycle!! The cuteness – it burns!!

So there you have it.  I like dinosaurs and so I force my child to wear a lot of clothing with dinosaurs on them.  I figure I should take advantage the fact that he lacks the coordination neccessary to dress himself, when he’s 15 I doubt he’ll let me put him in a T-Rex top.  That doesn’t mean I won’t try though – I mean what if it was a T-Rex on a skateboard??  That’d be cute right?  I mean cool, that’d be cool, or something.
